Couples Weekend / Intensive Therapy

I understand how challenging it can be to find time for relationship growth amidst busy schedules, or when the right therapist feels out of reach. That's why I offer Couples Therapy Intensives ā€“ a dedicated space, free from daily distractions, where you and your partner can focus solely on each other.

I use Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), a proven method to help you break free from negative patterns and build a stronger, more loving connection. My intensives, usually held Friday, Saturday, or Sunday with 4, 8, and 12 hour options, are perfect if you:

  • Struggle to fit in weekly therapy.

  • Travel frequently.

  • Manage a long-distance relationship.

  • Have limited access to qualified couples counselors.

  • Need enhanced privacy.

  • Want to see faster progress.

  • Are able to carve out some unique time for your relationship.

Eight hours is optimal, costing $1,200.

What's Included? This fee is a comprehensive package that includes my focused time as your couples therapist, pre-intensive prep work, in-session reviews, consultation calls, and collaboration with your ongoing therapist (if applicable).

Getting Started is Simple:

  1. Review the information on this page.

  2. Schedule a free consultation to discuss your goals.

  3. We'll find a date that works, and I'll clarify my cancellation policy.

  4. Complete the electronic paperwork and questionnaire I'll send.

  5. I recommend reading Hold Me Tight by Dr. Sue Johnson beforehand.

A Typical Intensive: My experience has provided me with a framework that helps couples connect, process, and experience deeper understanding. I've provided a typical schedule to review.

Day One: (12:00 pm to 5:30 pm)
1. Couples Session to introduce EFT concepts.
2. Individual sessions to explore past attachment wounds.
3. Couples Session to use newfound understanding to navigate current struggles.
Day Two: (9:00 am to 12:30 pm)
Couples sessions to continue working on vulnerable communication, attachment and deepening connection. More time can be added.

After the Intensive: I strongly encourage continued work with a couples therapist (either me or someone else) to ensure lasting change. Iā€™m happy to collaborate with your existing therapist. Remember, the follow-up care, with either your current therapist or myself, is not included in the initial fee.

Preparing for Your Intensive:

  • Retreat Mindset: Treat this as a special retreat, leaving work behind.

  • Reflect: Think about your feelings and goals for the relationship.

  • Prepare: Read Hold Me Tight.

  • Be Open: Come ready to explore with an open heart.

  • Be Patient: Allow yourselves grace as you navigate new emotions.

  • Communicate: Let me know how you're feeling; I'm here to help.
